Stake Conf issues

#1

Post by abcampa »

Hi,

I have been doing stake Conf webcast for 3 years now, for 3 conferences. We have improved significantly, but still come up with a few issues.

First to explain our setup.

We use a pretty new/hardware capable PC that connects to a video/audio mixer via USB. This mixer takes in the audio from the pulpit and video from a professional camera. The computer hardware, mixer, camera, cables and all that does not seem to be an issue.

We can still improve but the following is our main issue:

** Buffering and stream interruption problems on the receiving end. **

We use meetinghouse webcast to transmit and we put it on the High quality(1.7M up / 1.3M down).
Our stake bldg, last checked is at 2.6 up / 6.7 down, using speedtest.lds.org

I plan to retest all our ward building internet speeds and verify their download capabilities.

Any additional suggestions to prevent stream interruption and buffering?

That and disconnect all other connections during the conference. Especially wireless.
