Who owns the "event" in the calendar

#1

Post by cntaylor »

I have two related questions on calendar events. Our stake YW president put in most of the events for 2014 into our calendar. Now, a new stake young women's president has been called. Everything is fine except for: (1) if a notification is sent out about an event, it goes out in the prior YW president's name and (2) the only way to change it appears to be to completely delete the event and add a new one. So, my two questions are:

1. Is there a way to change the "owner" of an event without deleting and re-entering an event.
2. As a related question, is there a way for a secretary (for example) to put in the events, but have the e-mails go out from the YW president rather than in her name?

Thanks,
Clark Taylor

Modifying the event may do it. I'm not sure.

No.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

The "owner" of an event is the last person who modified it. So anyone with permission to edit an event can do so, and will become the "owner"; even just saving the event without actually changing anything will have this effect.

This is why we try to get the Event owner's name listed in the Description field with their phone number, so anyone who needs to talk to the organizer will have that info by just hovering over the event with the cursor.

It would be nice if there was an input field that listed the Event owner's name and contact phone for everyone to contact and followup with.

Changing the bottom right hand "owner" info to the last person to touch the event makes it difficult for a "ward" calendaring expert to assist in cleaning up booked events for appearance and efficient communication of the needed information about the event - because then EVERYONE CALLING THEM ABOUT THE EVENT - and they just have to refer individuals to the correct event owner. Thanks.
