Recording a Child Blessing when there is no father of record

#1

Post by dchris907 »

Good evening all:

I am trying to record a child blessing when there is no father of record for the child. The birth certificate lists the father as unknown. Regretfully, MLS requires me to enter the fathers surname and wont go past this point. I'm stuck in a loop.

Recommendations for what I should do to record this ordinance?

Although it prompts you in several places if you don't enter a father, you should be able to click Continue and eventually get a certificate printed and a membership record created.

On the final dialog that pops up when you say you want to print a certificate it indicates that the mother and father are required fields (they are shaded). But once you enter the mother you should be able to print the certificate. At least I was able to in the test install of MLS.

Put the name as it is on the Birth Certificate use "Unknow" for both names if necessary.
