I ran the following tests to determine the consistency of highlighted text on Samsung phone (Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2.2), Chrome browser (29.0.1547.66) and IE 10 browser (10.0.8) and received inconsistent results. Is there anything I can do to have confidence that my work will not be lost or corrupted as I change platforms/phones over time?
Test 1, highlight in pink 1Ne 1:1
First In Android, then synch
knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God,
In IE 10
having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God,
In Chrome
of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record
Test 2, start over no highlights then highlight in pink 1Ne 1:1
In Chrome,
knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God,
In Android after synch
yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness
In IE 10

Test 4, start over with no highlights then highlight in pink 1Ne 1:1

Test 5, start over with no highlights then highlight in pink 1Ne 1:1

Re: Highlighting is inconsistant between platforms/browsers
I've long believed that there is an inconsistency. I usually study on my desktop computer, but may review scriptures during a lesson on my phone and I've noticed highlights that feel off. I haven't had the time to do an experiment as you did, but your results don't surprise me; I think there's a problem.

This is troubling. It does at least explain why my highlights sometimes appear inconsistent.

I've also noticed a large discrepancy in the number of items reported on my Android devices and the website. LDS.org says that I have 1925 items, and 1603 highlights. My Android devices report 1877 items and 226 highlights.

I have noticed that the underlining on my Kindle is really nice and thick so I can see it, but on lds.org, the same underlining is so thin that it is barely visible.
Underlining and highlighting between my Kindle and my Windows phone is inconsistent. If I highlight or underline only a single word on my Kindle, the whole verse will be marked on my Windows phone.
