If I click the Login button while using Chrome I just get the same main page and no login screen.
Internet Explorer does work.

That happens when you connect to the forum directly via http and not https.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
