Additional Mailing List Request

Post by rscraft »

Being able to now e-mail Bishoprics, ward auxiliaries, etc is a great addition. How about taking it one step further :). The stake presidency often wants to send a message to all the bishops in the stake, or all the bishoprics. The Stake clerk often send mail messages to all the ward clerks. Having to go to each ward and cut-n-paste each ward clerk take a long time.

Currently, our stake maintains a stake domain, primarily for mail distribution, but it's up to the stake clerk (me :)) to keep it updated. Trying to keep all the ward clerks trained to send me all the org updates is almost impossible.

If we could start with the basic auxiliaries each ward has, that would be great. Ideally, if the stake clerks could create customer PDL's for their stake, that would be wonderful :)

The most used ones in our stake are: Bishops, Bishoprics, Ward Clerks, Young Men's presidents, YW Presidents, Relief Society Presidents, Primary Presidents, Sunday School Presidents and Ward Councils. If these could be generated based on the LDS.org data, it'd save a whole lot of time.

The Send a Message feature already has some of these: Bishops and Bishoprics. It also has the ability to send to all RS Presidencies (but not just the presidents as you mentioned), EQ Presidencies, and HPG Leadership. Not everyone can see all these groups, but the stake president and stake clerk certainly can.

But it would be nice to have more options, as you mentioned, and make them available to more people.
