lds.org and mls

#1

Post by oilqu »

I am wondering if there is anything we can do to help sync lds.org with mls. It seems that sometimes after we make changes in mls and after we wait several days and weeks, lds.org still does not sometimes reflect those changes. For example, in the 99th ward (Provo YSA 16th Stake) we can see that Andrew Brock is still in as the EQ 1st counselor and Elias Flores is still the EQ secretary, when they were released a while back.

CDOL provides the information displayed in the online Directory. If changes have been made for tier two positions in MLS and a send/receive has been done but CDOL does not reflect those changes then edit the calling in MLS by changing something simple such as the set apart flag. Save it. Go back in and change it back to the original value. Then do another send/receive. This will trigger the calling to be resent.

When CDOL and MLS get out of sync and there are several callings with problems then follow the procedures in Correcting duplicate or missing callings. This involves doing a Unit data refresh to pull the CDOL data into MLS were the errors and duplicate callings can be corrected.

How long ago? Sometimes the sync breaks, and when it does the changes doesn't work. I'd suggest trying the Correcting duplicate or missing callings link given in the prior post.

If the synch is broken, then this will be the case as stated, but our online lds.org/mls changes are reflected nearly immediately... This is a process that works very well and has for some time now.

Maybe I wasn't clear. If these releases were done during the time the sync was broken, then the changes won't get to CDOL (and by extension to the directory). Since only changes are sent, it won't fix itself once the sync function is fixed. Manual effort will be required to get things corrected.

So the OP's problem might be a reflection of past problems, not a current/ongoing problem with the system.
