Scripture Highlight Not Working

Scripture highlighting isn't working for me.
I place the cursor, wait for the I bar representation and drag to select the text I want to highlight, but the highlighting toolbar never appears.
I get an Error on page message in the bottom left portion of the IE 8 frame:

There are a number of issues for LDS.org and other church sites when using IE8. This may be one of those. The only recommendation is to use another browser. Two of the recommended browsers are Chrome and Firefox.
