When will Lufas be " Open " for new audit?
When will Lufas be " Open " for the coming August 2013 Audit period? Right now, it only shows access to past audits, no link for a new audit.....we want to start early due to summer vacation schedule to work around>>>>>>

Re: When will Lufas be " Open " for new audit?
Since the audit is to be performed in August I would expect the new audit will be available on 1 August.

According to our Assistant Area Auditor, the midyear 2013 audits will be available on July 15 (and he encouraged us to start doing audits soon after that).

The midyear audit forms (W7) are available now, although the audits themselves aren't available yet. Looks like the most significant change is that the training question (#3) has been dropped and replaced with a requirement that the MLS computer be behind a policy-compliant filter. Also, language has changed on the question about whether the bishop has approved all payments to provide clarification on how to test an IROP payment, and whether verbal confirmation is enough (it is, as long as he also signed the monthly statement).

Excuse my ignorance, but do you have a definition of "a policy-compliant filter"? Does this mean the firewall or something else?allenjpl wrote:Looks like the most significant change is that the training question (#3) has been dropped and replaced with a requirement that the MLS computer be behind a policy-compliant filter.

Probably means behind a properly-functioning church-provided firewall.Biggles wrote:Excuse my ignorance, but do you have a definition of "a policy-compliant filter"? Does this mean the firewall or something else?
If you want to do a quick check, go to http://filter.lds.org

I thought that might be the interpretation. Just wanted to make sure that was the intended meaning!
Thanks

Indeed, the specific wording of the new question #3 is: "Is the ward’s computer protected from unauthorized and harmful Internet access in accordance with Church policy?
Open the Internet browser on the ward’s computer, enter http://filter.lds.org in the address field, and wait for the system to respond."
If filter.lds.org does anything except display a check mark, that will be an audit exception. And only a Church-managed firewall will show a check mark.

One of my duties, as STS, was to carry out that very check on the Ward computers in our Stake recently! Certainly doesn't hurt to remind everyone though!

I want to stress that the URL should be typed and not to use a bookmark. Because if you bookmark the result, you'll always get that result. (We've been down that road before. And yes, it works for positive results too. I've just verified it.)aebrown wrote:Open the Internet browser on the ward’s computer, enter http://filter.lds.org in the address field, and wait for the system to respond."

Yes, it's possible to make a proper bookmark, but then you'd have to verify that the bookmark has the correct URL. It's just simpler to say that it needs to be typed to get an accurate test result.
