What membership info is available to whom?

What membership info is available to whom?

I have a member who recently changed callings. He used to log onto LDS.org and see membership info for all wards and the Stake. Now he only sees his ward. What should he be able to see? Shouldn't everyone be able to see names, addresses and Stake info, callings, etc.?

You posted in the Other Technologies forum so I am not certain what membership information you are referring to and what application is being used to get that membership information. If you are referring to the online Directory then this thread will need to be moved to the appropriate forum.

I am going to assume by the little information provided that the membership information is the the information available in the online Directory. Every member of the stake should be able to view the Directory for their ward and all the other wards in the stake. When viewing households in another ward you will not see any children displayed. All members of the stake should be able to view stake leaders and organizations and do a membership search for the entire stake.

The answer depends in part on what country you are in. In the US, the default is for everyone to appear. Anyone who doesn't want to appear in the directory must "opt-out".

But in other areas, such as Europe, everyone's privacy is set to visible to "leadership only" by default. In such areas, a release might have a much more dramatic effect on what they can see.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
