Password reset

#1

Post by longc »

I am fairly new here and can not seem to find a good place to post this question so I thought I might start here.

My 1st Councilor's password for LDS.org will not work. We have reset it on multiple occasions and it still tells us that it is an invalid password or user name.

Any thoughts on how I can help him fix this??

Thanks!!

Since it's the LDS password that's used for LDS.org he can reset it at http://ldsaccount.lds.org

I have done this many times. I just tried it again.

I get the message, "your password has been successfully updated"

I log off, log into lds.org and get, "Your user name or password is incorrect. Please ensure that you are entering the correct information."

You may need to wait a bit. In the past I've found it can take several minutes for a new password to sync to all the lds websites.

The other question: are you using any odd characters in the password? It's possible they are not supported.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

I just tried to change it again and made it Town1234

That didnt work either.

Is there any chance the account is locked and I need to contact someone to "Unlock" it??

It's possible. At this point I'd recommend going to ldsaccount.lds.org, click on Can't Sign In and carefully review the common issues listed there (particularly the one labeled Are you being told your account is disabled or invalid?). If none of the information there helps, click on the What if my issue is not listed here? link at the bottom of the page and send a message to the LDS Account support time. From what I've heard they are usually pretty quick to respond.

I notice you listed a period as part of the password. Try it without any punctuation. Just letters and numbers.

At this point, I would try talking to the LDS Account support folks directly. You can reach them at 1-801-240-4357, or toll free at 1-866-678-2763. Press 1 for English, then 2 for LDS Account support.
