Missionary application/recommendation
I'm trying to figure out how to begin the process for the missionary recommendation. Neither my branch president or myself have any idea how to do it, and it seems to have changed since I served. I found the Missionary Online Recommendation System through lds.org, but I can't access it and neither can my branch president.
My question is quite simple: How do we send out a missionary from out branch?
I'm in Denmark, if it makes a difference, and it's a young missionary we're talking about.
Thanks!

Re: Missionary application/recommendation
A bishop has automatic access to the missionary application system; he should be able to simply sign in with his LDS Account at https://lds.org/mss. I assume the same should be true of a branch president.
You didn't mention your calling, but for clerks and executive secretaries, the bishop/branch president has to specifically give them permissions, so it's not surprising that you don't have access.
The bishop/branch president starts the process by entering the candidate into the system. There's a help system linked to from the main page that should answer all these questions.

It will also go a little quicker if the young man has an LDS account before he visits with the bishop and opens the application. The Executive Secretary sits down with them and helps them do that before they visit with me.

I had the branch president try again, and this is the message he received: http://i.imgur.com/xSiGJwf.jpg
Any idea how to proceed from here? He is on CDOL as the branch president, and he has plenty of access through lds.org - more than me, that's for sure.
I'm the branch clerk, so that explains why I don't have access.

Re: Missionary application/recommendation
I'd have the Branch President call Local Unit Support.

Worse comes to worse: Can the Stake President open the application?

If the stake president opens the application (if he even can), he has to completely fill it out. Don't do it.TinMan wrote:Worse comes to worse: Can the Stake President open the application?
Have the bishop/branch president open the application. If he has problems, work with Local Unit Support to get the problem resolved. I cannot open the jpg in the earlier post, so I do not know what error message the branch president is receiving, sorry.

It was an image of the standard sign-in page for the Missionary Online Recommendation System with an error message displayed: "No valid roles were found for your account. You might not be authorized to use this system."lajackson wrote:I cannot open the jpg in the earlier post, so I do not know what error message the branch president is receiving, sorry.
