changing view to specified month
Anybody out there ever wish to change the view to a month you can specify, other than just previous, next, or today's? I'd give a six-pack of his/her favorite soft drink, to the developer who could implement this.

Yes, I'm sure there are several who would like this functionality as it has come up before on the forum. It is something I provided as feedback within a few days of the original edition of the Calendar tool being made available. There was such a feature on the calendar portion of the old Stake and Ward Web sites.
I know you can use the small calendar to fairly quickly step to a desired month and then click a date on the main calendar to get it to catch up, but I, like you, would still like to be able to directly pick a month and jump right to it.

Thanks, Jeromer7.
Newbie question #37, Where can I find your original post? I thought I'd searched thoroughly before posting my question, but apparently I missed yours.
Mayhap enough folks will storm the castle with pitchforks and torches?

You can find the original post here, with a followup here.lelarso wrote:Newbie question #37, Where can I find your original post? I thought I'd searched thoroughly before posting my question, but apparently I missed yours.
There are a variety of ways to find such posts, but what I did was:
- Click on jeromer7's user name
- Click on search user's posts
- In the "Search these results" box enter "month" (I figured that any post on this topic would contain that word).
- Sure enough, that gave only 8 hits, and it was easy to find the relevant posts.
I believe the recommend means for achieving change does not involve pitchforks and torches, but rather by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned.lelarso wrote:Mayhap enough folks will storm the castle with pitchforks and torches?

I agree. Jumping directly to a specified month would be an excellent new feature for the calendar.

Notwithstanding D&C 121, "storming the castle" is a metaphor for getting action by enough folks requesting the change. Hopefully the requested change has been considered by the software folks.
