Saving current location for audio

I'm looking for a way to save my current location when listening to General Conference talks or the audio scriptures. The problem is my current location is reset every time the Mormon Channel or Gospel Library app is closed. I try to listen to Conference or the scriptures when driving to/from work, but trying to manually keep track of where I left off is a very manual process.

Is there a way for either app to remember you last place, as the Audible app does? The only way I'm able to get it working is to create a new bookmark each time. I would love a solution that would not require me to create/update/delete bookmarks each time. If there's not this capability, any other Android apps that will achieve this I should look at?
