The last thing I want on Sunday is an office full of secretaries trying to update organization information and print class rolls. It much easier for the secretaries to let me know what they need, I'm much more proficient in MLS than them, and lots of requests can be handled when I'm in the clerks office during the week then placed in their box for pickup on Sunday morning.

My original point was having them do it via lds.org which solves your concern as well. Everybody ends up happier.

So at this point, access has been given to ward and stake leaders and clerks, which I think we would all agree is a higher priority than auxiliary leaders. For the other groups of "the right people" we'll just have to be patient until their access gets implemented.

If you're a ward that has the clerks or exec sec print the roles then those people may agree with you. But, for wards that let the org secretaries print the rolls, they would disagree.

I could agree with that statement for the narrow question of printing rolls, but that's only a tiny fraction of what is available on Leader and Clerk Resources. I was speaking of the whole Leader and Clerk Resources area, and considering all the work that gets done there I still think it's clear that the people with current access do much more work and thus deserve the higher initial priority.

Yes, or even easier and quicker yet, save them as .pdf files and then email them to the organization secretaries once a quarter or as requested. The secretary can handle printing it out. That has to be the least impact until LDS.org is updated to allow each organization to generate it themselves.

Can organization leaders print rolls through LDS.org?

Postby OS1802 » Mon Jan 21, 2013 1:06 pm

I noticed that I have the capability to print class rolls online. Can the axillary presidents and secretaries view and print these as well or only clerks?

I moved your post into an existing topic for this issue. As you review the other posts in this topic, you'll see that the answer is currently no.

Even though Clerks have the capability to print class rolls online, I would not do so except for very small classes. For classes that spill over onto a second page, the date row of the table does not print on the 2nd page, making the roll almost useless. I recommend having the clerk print them all out, either to a printer or to a pdf file, from MLS. Maybe about the time that the problem with the non-repeating table header row is fixed, the other organization secretaries will then have access to print it themselves at lds.org.

The roll for most classes will fit easily on one page. In our ward, only the Gospel Doctrine SS classes, the EQ, HPG, and RS will not fit on one page. All other SS, YM, YW, and Primary classes fit on one page. So it certainly is an option to print those rolls from LDS.org for almost all the classes.

The existing topic for that particular issue is Clerk Resources - Attendance Rolls - Repeat Header Row if you want to stay on top of the resolution of that problem.

If your calling is corrected recorded with the standard YM Secretary position and if your LDS Account is correctly linked to your membership record, then yes you can. Organization secretaries have been able to print rolls, class lists and birthday lists for their own organizations since around June of 2015. They can also edit class assignments and callings for those organizations as well.
