churchwide event calanders

#1

Post by george005 »

I have a very unusual problem. My first experience occurred on the Branch Computer where the calendar was scrambled all over the screen. After visiting LDS Tech it recommended I try another browser. I selected Firefox. This fixed the display problem and the computer is working fine other wise. Now the real unusual problem is when I attempted to access the same calender on my desktop computer at home It would not display properly and I have the same browser as the one I installed on the branch computer. One real odd thing I noticed when I changed to use Internet explorer the calendar displayed properly...but when comparing it with my laptop display the schedule time for a scheduled to occur this coming Sunday did not match. My desktop display of the calendar showed the start of the event as 2pm and my laptop showed the starting time as 5 pm which matches the printed calender time I had printed out for the Branch Council members the last of December 2013. Can anyone explain this behavior ??

Make sure your "zoom" is set to 100%. I think that ctrl-zero for most browsers.

The displayed calendar adjusts to the computer's time zone.

Both my desktop and my laptop as well as the church desktop PC are in the same time zone but only my desktop shows the time as 2pm while my laptop and the branch computer show 5pm. I have never had this problem before and I have been the calander administrator, but also membership butt't clerk and bulleting specialist for 3 years and as stated before I have never experienced this aberation before. all concerned computers are located in the easter time zone.

The standard has been it's the computer's time zone. But you might want to check the clock as well. Perhaps there's something about your browser that is mis-reporting your time zone. Or perhaps a security setting is preventing your browser from letting the website know.

IYour comment just got me to thinking. I have two virus.malware programs running all the time to help keep my PC safe. Perhaps I need to add that page to the allowed sites/pages . I'll check to see that. Thanks for your timely response and advice. I'll report back on this issue after I have gone through my OS and browser and time settings.
