Ward Members Scheduling Calendar

#1

Post by OS1802 »

As a Ward Clerk do I need to grant access to auxiliary leaders to schedule events on the LDS.org ward calendar or is that automatically granted when their calling is updated in MLS?

Thanks!

It depends on how the editors of specific calendars have been configured. If, for example, you have a calendar called "Young Women" and it is configured to specify editors by calling to be the YW President, counselors, and secretary, then when the calling is updated in MLS the new leaders will automatically become editors (there could be a delay of up to a day, but other than that, it is automatic).

Because of this, it is indeed a good idea to set up editors by calling so you don't have to do anything with the calendar when new people are called to those positions. The Initial Setup feature of the calendar sets up several organizational calendars with editors specified by calling, so if your ward used Initial Setup to create these calendars, they should already be set up that way.

Excellent - yes, I located where the calendar settings indicate this.

Thanks for your help!

Assuming of course, that they have been entered as a standard position and not a custom one.

Which doesn't really need to be stated, since the calendar system won't even allow you to specify editors by calling using custom positions.

Sorry, as long as the member's calling is recorded in MLS as a standard position. Custom positions, even if they are the exact same wording, will not work.
