Printing calendar

Post by bingogjb »

In the event that the bishop requests a printed calendar, HELP.
I have tried several ways to print the month of January for the bishop; however it always prints on two pages. How can I print the entire month at a time.

When you say it prints on two pages, are you saying that there are so many events on the calendar that only the first four weeks fit on the first page and thus the last week has to bump to a new page? If so, you might consider a general rule of shortening event titles, or you might consider if some of the calendars are not essential and deselecting a calendar or two before printing so that there will be fewer events on the page.

Or is there some other issue? If so, please help us understand what appears on each of the two pages that are printed for January. It also might be helpful for you to print additional months, and see if they all split onto multiple pages, or if there is something unusual with the month of January.

If the "Settings" (gear icon in the upper right of the page) > Print option is used instead of the browser print feature, the month view calendar will be printed on one page.

The Agenda view is the best, IMO, printed version of the calendar. Inevitably the number of pages for a typical month will be more than one page. The advantage of the agenda view is the advanced options to show the end time, description and location. The calendar agenda view will typically require more than one page to print.

The month view is printed on one page. The size of the calendar will be modified to fit the page setup format (landscape or portrait). The disadvantages of the month view are only having the event start time, potential for clipped event title, no event description, and no location. Additionally, if a date has more events than can be displayed in the date block, those events are not displayed on the printout.

The week view has similar disadvantages as the month view for printouts. The abbreviated event title issue is more pronounced when there are two or more events with overlapping block times. In fact the titles can become impossible to discern when there are three or more events with overlapping times. The only advantage of the week view is the inclusion of reservations for the locations selected in the "Locations" list box.
