Calendar v2.2.3: Scheduler rights for all buildings?
I am currently a stake administrator, and am configured to have the building scheduler role for one building. So I have the Reservations option under Settings, and can add, edit, or delete reservations for that building.
With the update to v2.2.3, I've suddenly acquired rights to modify reservations for every building in my stake -- not just the one I'm set as the scheduler for.
I did a quick test and removed myself as a building scheduler, and as expected, the Reservations option disappeared from the Settings menu, and I couldn't do anything with reservations for any building. But when I added myself back as a building scheduler for just that one building, I once again could modify reservations for all the buildings.
I really doubt that it was intended to give schedulers those broad permissions -- this sounds like a newly-introduced bug.

I'm seeing the same thing. I don't know if it's a factor, but I'm a stake default admin and the other buildings don't have any schedulers set up for them.aebrown wrote:I've suddenly acquired rights to modify reservations for every building in my stake -- not just the one I'm set as the scheduler for.

I'm also a stake default admin, but in my case, the other buildings definitely do have schedulers set up.russellhltn wrote:I'm seeing the same thing. Re: Calendar v2.2.3: Scheduler rights for all buildings?
I don't duplicate this same behavior...
I started by adding my wife as a scheduler for one location. She has absolutely no calendar administration rights or edit privileges on any calendar either by calling or by name (she's the Ward Sacrament Bulletin Specialist), so this seemed like a reasonable test to see if she would have permissions to only that one or to all locations. Only the one location appears for her under Reservations. Initially I thought that maybe admins really are affected differently for building scheduling.
To confirm, I removed myself as a scheduler from all locations and validated that I no longer see Reservations as an option in the menu. Then I added myself to one location and when I go to Reservations I only see that one location. I am a default administrator as both Stake Assistant Clerk Technology Specialist and Stake Website Administrator.

That's interesting. Thanks for making the attempt.failproof wrote:I don't duplicate this same behavior...
I can still duplicate the problem; nothing has changed. I'm not sure what could explain why it's not consistently reproducible. I have been a building scheduler at some point for all the buildings, but I rather doubt that that would be a factor.

Except for the stake center, no one has been a Building Scheduler for any of the other buildings.aebrown wrote:I have been a building scheduler at some point for all the buildings, but I rather doubt that that would be a factor.
But I do having a question - what happens if you remove yourself as a scheduler and add yourself back in? IOW, does this only affect "old" schedulers?

I already covered that in the OP -- the problem still occurs after removing myself and adding myself back in.russellhltn wrote:But I do having a question - what happens if you remove yourself as a scheduler and add yourself back in? IOW, does this only affect "old" schedulers?

Perhaps it only affects Default Stake Admins who are also a Building Schedulers? That would explain why the two of us see it.

But that theory doesn't explain why failproof (who is also a default stake admin and a building scheduler) could not duplicate it.russellhltn wrote:Perhaps it only affects Default Stake Admins who are also a Building Schedulers? That would explain why the two of us see it.

Another thought: are you the "primary" building scheduler? I know I'm not.aebrown wrote:But that theory doesn't explain why failproof (who is also a default stake admin and a building scheduler) could not duplicate it.
