my membership number is already in use?

I am trying to confirm my membership number in my account and it says that it is already in use. I am not sure who to contact to fix it. Can anyone help me?

A very similar question was asked in this thread:

The answer was to work through your ward clerk. If necessary, your ward clerk can call the GSC to recover the account.

Meanwhile, if you have not already tried the "forgot my username" button/link, I'm not certain of all the details, but I think there's a chance that might help.
