I have followed the instructions to change my username, but there is no field for username as in it won't allow me to change it. Any suggestions?

If you go to LDSAccount.LDS.org, do you have a "Workforce" tab on the left? If you're considered part of the workforce group, you won't be able to change your username. This applies to Church employees, missionaries, and seminary and institute teachers.
