My daughters LDS account

My daughter signed up for an LDS account several years ago in Young Women's, and apparently used an e-mail address or password that is no longer valid (it may have been a school e-mail address to a school she no longer attends.) We need to make her a brand new account, but do not know any of the information (we have tried several different passwords, but not luck). I do have her membership record number, but it won't let us make a new account since she previously signed up for one. This is very frustrating. Since I wasn't with her when she made her original account, I have no idea what name and password she used and she cannot remember. She is now old enough to manage this account on her own, but our hands are tied. Is there a way to get into an old account without e-mail address, name or password? Or can we just make a new account with the membership number? Help. Thanks,
Julie Winters

Since you have the membership number, and presumably know her birth date, you can use the "forgot" link on the sign in page to recover the username and reset the password of the existing account.

If you do not know either of the username or the password for the lost LDS Account you can recover the username and reset the password once the username is recovered.

To recover the username:
  1. Update the email address registered with the LDS Account by updating the email address listed in the Directory on LDS.org.
    • Log onto LDS.org at the "My Account and Ward" link in the upper right of the LDS.org page.
    • Go to the Directory by again clicking "My Account and Ward" and clicking Directory in the middle column under "My Ward".
    • Click the "My Household" link in the left column of your ward Directory.
    • Click the Edit button at the top of the right pane just above your household name.
    • Find the name for the household member who's email address you wish to edit.
Below their name is either the household member's existing telephone number and email address or a link to add one.
    • If an email address is listed, click the "Edit" link below the existing email address and to the right of the email visibility setting.
This allows you to edit the email address and/or the visibility setting for displaying the email address.
If there is no email address click the "Add an email address" link to add one.
    • Once the email address is updated in the Directory it will be updated in LDS Account.
  2. Go to "https://ldsaccount.lds.org" and click the link "Forgot your username?" under the "LDS Account Username" textbox.
  3. Select the Membership Record Number (MRN) method under "Please choose how to recover your username."
In addition to the MRN you will need the birth date. Both must be as listed in the membership record. The MRN is available either on the IOS available from your ward clerk, or membership clerk, or it is available when viewing your household in the Directory on LDS.org. Click the "show record number" link under the household member's name to view the MRN.
  4. An email will be sent to the email address registered in the account. A text message will also be sent to the telephone number registered in the account.
With the recovered username a forgotten password can be reset by clicking "I don't know my password" in the LDS Account "Account Recovery" page or by clicking the "Forgot your password?" link below the "Password" textbox on the LDS Account sign in page.
An email wilh instructions will be sent to the email address registered in the LDS Account.
