The member must have their address of record in the United States and the bank from which the funds will be drawn must be a U. S. bank. Are you saying that both your address is in the U.S. as well as the bank is a U.S. bank? If so, what is the message you get when you try to make a donation?

There are some exceptions, such as for servicemen stationed overseas who still use U.S. banking accounts. But those have to be set up on an individual basis by headquarters.

However, I'd expect all residents of the US to be able to get into the donation system. It will only accept US banks, but you have to be in to before you hit that roadblock.

I'm not sure if the system looks at the members address, or if it looks at what ward they belong to. Or both.

It looks at what stake they belong to. The system may also have been tweaked by now to include wards in stakes that extend outside the U.S., but where the ward itself is totally within the U.S.

Does anyone have a headquarters contact for overseas service members to get help on paying tithing on-line?

I am a AIr Force member living in Bulgaria and have a US bank account but have had the same problems paying tithing on-line as others in this forum. I have asked my branch president and numerous U.S. ward clerks for help with this but unfortunately, no one could tell me why I can see donations history and all else tithing related but not have the option to pay.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Send an email to donations@ldschurch.org and they will help you.

Edit: See two posts later for a newer email address.

For any of you reading this forum, following is the bottom line on how to set up your online donations, which I received from our LDS Donations U.S. Headquarters:

"If you are an ex-pat and desire to donate in US funds from a US Bank, electronically. Email your name and membership number to onlinedonationsupport@ldschurch.org and ask to have access to the LDS.org donations program."

Thanks to all of you who contributed to this discussion, which ultimately led me to the answer above,
Manny
