Missionary Recommendation Form access

#1

Post by bethdavies05 »

I am trying to access my mission papers. I can log into my LDS account just fine but when i try to put in my user name and password to the missionary recommendation form portal, it says that i must be selected as a "role." I have spoken with my bishop about selecting me for the "role" and he says he has done it multiple times already and doesn't know why it's not allowing me in. Please help!

Odds are, the person he is selecting doesn't match the MRN on your LDS account. You might want to get with a clerk to confirm the MRN on your account.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

I would first make sure your correct membership record number is associated with your LDS Account. Your ward clerk can help you. He can also ask the stake clerk to verify that your name is in the system, in case something went wrong as the bishop tried to activate your missionary application.

Aloha,

I am trying to access my mission papers. This is the first time I created a LDS account. I wasnʻt able to access the papers using my lds account that I just created. It showed this error "In order to access the Missionary Online Recommendation System you must have both a valid LDS Account (username and password) and a “role” in the system. If you are a prospective missionary, your bishop or branch president must initialize a recommendation for you. If you are a clerk, your priesthood leader must designate you as such in the system. After you have been assigned a “role,” you should be able to log in using your LDS Account. If you continue to experience problems, please click the link Need help signing in? or contact your stake technology specialist.
You have provided an incorrect user name or password."

My sister who is a return missionary is helping me and we found out that my membership number was not attached. When we tried to update the membership number which we found on my patriarchal blessing. We double checked and the number and birthdate was correct but we got an error. The error said "Either the MRN and/or Birth Date is not valid or the account already exists."

Everything is valid and there is no other account that I created. Please help me ASAP. :D

It's possible that the membership number on the blessing was not written correctly so you should check with your ward clerk to make sure. Also have him make sure your birth date is recorded correctly on your record.

Finally, the lds account is used for several different sites (including familysearch.org and indexing) so you may have created an lds account previously without realizing it. On https://ldsaccount.lds.org (without being logged in), click on the 'Lost user' link and then use the Membership Record Number option to search for an existing account for your number. If one exists there should then be an option to reset or recover the password on that account. If one exists, you'll then need to use that account to access the missionary system.

Aidez-moi

If your bishop has already activated your mission application, make sure your membership record number is attached to your Church Account, and if it already is, work with your ward clerk to resolve the issue. He may need to contact the area office or Global Service Center.
