My Membership number

Hi, I was trying to link my membership number to my husband in Family search, but it kept coming back as someone else. How can this be? So, I went into my LDS account to make sure I was using the correct one, and then went back and tried it again and it says that it is not even a number. How can this be? What do I need to do about this situation?

There is no way in FamilySearch to link your membership number to your husband. What is it you are actually trying to do?

If you are trying to set up a FamilySearch account for yourself, then you are already done -- your LDS Account (which you have verified is set up properly, and which you also used to post to this forum) is the account you use in FamilySearch as well.

If you are trying to set up a FamilySearch account for your husband, then be aware that he has to have his own LDS Account (which again, is the same as the FamilySearch account). If he is a member, he has to use his own membership record number -- he can't use yours.

If you are trying to link him to you on Family Tree on FamilySearch.org, then please note that doing so has nothing to do with your LDS Account. We can give you more details if this is what you are trying to do, but note that the ID numbers used on Family Tree are in a totally different format from membership record numbers.
