What happens to an account when someone passes away?

Church Account is the primary user account (user name and password) for accessing online Church resources. Church Account was formerly known as LDS Account. This forum is a space to discuss all things related to Church Accounts (registration, account recovery, user experience, vulnerabilities, etc.).

Assuming it's connected to a membership record, I'd expect it to be locked.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Very soon after the death is recorded on the membership record, the account no longer works. In a case with which I am very familiar, I checked the next day and could not access the account.
