access is denied to my ward directory

The message I get back is that I am not a member. I can pay my tithing but access is denied when I try to sign into the ward directory.
You probably don't have your Membership number (MRN) associated with your LDS Account. Go to ldsaccount.lds.org and add it. If you have a temple recommend, or you've received a statement of donations from your ward, it should have your membership number. Otherwise, you'll need to ask your clerk for that.
If you have a MRN associated with your account, then your membership record is probably not in a ward. You need to talk to your clerk about that.
