Membership Number problem

We have a member who has an LDS.org account. He can log in with his username and password. But in the Membership Profile it does not list his membership number. When we try to add the number we get a message saying it is incorrect or is already in use.
I can't seem to connect him with his membership so he can get access to what he needs as a member of the Elders Quorum Presidency.

Thanks

Use the "forgot user name" link and find out what account is using his MRN. He's probably forgotten that he created a LDS account.

Thank you. Funny how you can't see the forest for the trees when you're trying to figure something out. I had him recover the account with the MRN and everything is good to go.

Only if you have it associated with your LDS Account. Otherwise, you need to contact your ward clerk/ward membership clerk.

Not really practical. The information on who baptized you isn't kept. The certificate with the original bishop's signature isn't kept. While you can get your ward to re-print a certificate, it won't be the same.

You can do that here once you have your MRN attached to your LDS Account.

The other place you can find it is on your temple recommend if you have one.

This message is given because there is already an LDS Account that exists with that membership record number. He can go to ldsaccount.lds.org and use the MRN to recover the username of the account; then, he can try to recover the password. If password recover isn't available for the account, he'll have to contact support to get a reset, so he can access his calling information on lds.org.

Hello,
We have a child of record who is ready to be baptized, but we have no record of her in our system. Her name is xxxxxxx and she has had a record number. When we did look up her certificate information most of the categories were blank, but yet the Mother does have a certificate showing that she was given a blessing. Is there any think we can do to bring that record into our ward.

Thank You

You can try requesting it, but it's entirely possible the record was never created. The blessing certificate doesn't prove the record was created. Note that there is no need to record the blessing on the membership record - it's not stored and will be lost in the first move.

There are cases where a record is created when a child is blessed, or by a mission office, for a convert baptism, and the Date of Birth is entered as Month Day Year, instead of Day Month Year, the format used on the ordination request form. As an example, if the real date of birth was 07/12/yyyy, This would be Dec. 7, not July 12.

Another problem is, sometimes the day, month, or year, is off-by-one. These errors make it nearly impossible for a clerk to request a membership record from a previous ward. In these situations, it is always best to contact the GSC-Local Unit Support group for assistance. They are able to search for a membership record based on several parameters, which the member would know. It might be worthwhile to have the ward clerk contact Local Unit Support to see if a membership record already exists. If a new record is created, and a record is located later on, it makes things difficult for all parties, to resolve the issue.
