I have been trying to help out a member of our ward setup their LDS Account. She has been getting a "Session Timed Out" message every time. We tried on three different devices (a PC (Windows 7), laptop (Windows 10) and a phone running Android) to do it and get the "Session Timed Out" message every time when submitting after putting in the MRIN (this number was verified) and date of birth. Any ideas?

There could be a few things going on. The site may be temporarily down, so you may have to wait to register. You may also need to clear browsing data and change browsers too. If you are still having problems, contact a support specialist in your area.

As noted, this happened on three different devices and different times (they attempted on their own before seeking help). I did contact support (though, I'm not aware of specialists specific to our area). The solution that worked was going to ldsaccount--classic.lds.org to setup their LDS Account.

I think they may already be aware. The solution came from support.

If you ever get an error creating an account, adding an MRN to an account, or changing a password; Assume the the information was saved. Try logging out, or logging in with the username/password specified, review the profile to see if changes were saved.

If an error prevents you from creating an account, another workaround is to go to FamilySearch or ldsaccount.lds.org, and register an account as a Friend/non-member. Complete the account registration as a public/non-member account. Next log in to ldsaccount.lds.org, and add your MRN to your account. If you get an error "there is a problem with the website" or similar, log out, and log in again to see if the MRN was added. It usually is.

This is happening to me today. I've used two different browsers. Can't set up a new account for my son. Please help.
