Can't verify information

Created a new account on lds.org w/ the wrong phone number. As a result, I can't verify/confirm my username and password and yet I can't get on to change it because I don't have a username and password.

How to get on and change the information so I can get a username and password?

If you are a non-member you'll just have to create a new account.

Assuming you are a member you should go to https://ldsaccount.lds.org, click on Can't Sign In, and then click on How do I recover my user name?. Select the I don't have/remember my e-mail check box, select Yes for the Are you a LDS Church member? question and then finish filling out the rest of the form (which will require your membership number and your birth date). After it verifies your membership it should allow you to to enter a new email address or phone number.

Phone number is not required for registration as a Church member and is not available in the profile registration. It will not affect your registration. I do not know what is required for a nonmember account, and from what I can see it may not be required there either. But you can contact LDS Account support for them to assist you.

That was my first reaction too but when I tried to start a new registration (for one of my children) I saw that there is now an option to provide either an email address or a mobile phone number for username and/or password recovery.

The instructions I provided in my previous post should be sufficient to recover either a phone number or email address.
