Several times using LDS.org a page comes up saying I need to verify my account. It looks like an ad and asks for a credit card and a $1.00 charge. I did it and got a call from my bank saying it might be a fraud. The $1.00 was charged from a company called delefu. Is this known to LDS. org or just something that came on by computer when I was using LDS.org.

Your computer is probably infected with malware. I highly doubt if it's on the lds.org page.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
