Filtering for mobile devices

I've seen a lot of very good information on content filtering for computers and home networks. Based on those recommendations, I've set up OpenDNS and set my router to disallow any internet use between the hours of 1 and 6 am.

However, I am not seeing a lot of information on mobile devices. I'm using Verizon and they apparently have some content filtering (http://support.vzw.com/faqs/Features%20 ... ering.html)... does anyone have any experience with this or are their other third-party options?

There typically has not been much in hte way of content filtering products for mobile devices outside of those that take standard web browsers like Netbooks, but Blue Coat just put a version of K9 Web Protection out for the iPhone and iPad a couple months back. Check http://www.getk9.com for information.

I know there are special filters for the iPhone etc, they are sold as specialized browsers. I am pretty sure you can find browsers with filters for Android devices as well. The only down side is that iPhones don't let you remove the built in Safari browser so it all depends on the user using the filtered browser.

You can restrict the use of Safari on an iPhone so that it cannot be used. Settings > General > Restrictions.
