HP M3027x Original Size Prompt

Someone made a post expressing frustration with the prompt the HP M3027x gives when you ask it to make copies. I am unable to find the post, but basically the copier asks you to confirm the original size (or you can wait 5 seconds and then it will automatically start copying). This extra prompt can be a bit annoying when you simply want to make a copy of a standard size piece of paper.

Our stake has been living with this minor annoyance, but I finally got around to figuring out how to eliminate the prompt. As long as you only copy letter size paper, I see no downside to this change at all. Here are the steps:
  1. On the control panel, scroll down to the Administration button and press it.
  2. Select Default Job Options
  3. Select Default Options for Originals
  4. Select Original Size Prompt
  5. Choose Do Not Display, then press Save
  6. Restart the copier
It doesn't seem like it should be necessary to restart the copier, but at least in my case I found that the setting did not take effect until I restarted it.

Now when you press the Start button, it just immediately starts making copies, like one would expect a copier to do.
