In our small branch one 400 Euro Dell toner cartridge will completely use our budget. We can buy a very nice printer and 10,000 page cartridge for less than half that. Since the FM group will not supply anything but expensive Dell printers we are basically left with NO printer. You folks have to do better than this if you really want compliance with the guidelines. Either let us buy the printers or have the FM group BUY the toner cartridges for their printers.

This doesn't make sense to me. If your branch needs a toner, and church rules say you must buy a Dell toner, and that toner will take the entire YEAR budget for the branch, then the High Councilan over Facilities, the Branch President need to have a conversation with the Stake/District/Mission President about the stake/district/mission picking up that cost. It may be that others don't know of the issue.

Do the church supply toner? We are tied in to the church-sipllied printer and cheap cartidges run out so quickly. It would be useful if we could get them supplied centrally.

"Paper, toner, and other consumables are to be purchased with Ward or Stake budget." Quote from the Printer Overview section of the Help Centre.

I know in the case of HP, there are two different capacity cartridges. The low capacity will be cheaper to buy, but will cost more on a per-page basis.

I don't know, but can speculate that the reason the local unit has to pay for the toner is because it's up to the local unit on how much they copy.
