Wireless Connection Instructions (template)

[Moderator's note:]The following is a summery of instructions that one stake has provided for their FHCs to connect patrons to the stake wireless system. It is offered here as a template for other stakes to create their own set of instructions.
Since this was created for a specific stake, your local setup and policies may differ.
It should be noted that patrons may connect to the stake system only only where approved by the stake president and family history center leadership.[/Note]

The LDS' Internet should only be used for appropriate activity
1) IEEE 802.11g, 54Mbps per access point
2) Network name (SSID): LDSAccess (Service Set identifier)
3) Network Authentication: WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access)
4) Data Encryption type: TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol)
5) Network key: xxxxxxxx (case-sensitive)
6) Wireless client (Widows XP): Microsoft, enable "Use Windows to configure my network settings" Preferred networks set to LDSAccess (Automatic)
7) Meetinghouse Site Filtering and Firewall protection: LDS Church network group "CCN" uses a DSL broadband connection with a Cisco device which is the Church's managed firewall/filter (licensed for 10 devices or up to 50 active devices) which provides filtering and Virtual Private Network (VPN)
8) LDS Extended Access: Blocks known inappropriate material (for example, pornography, weapons information, hate sites, and other known offensive content)
9) Software Required: Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), including Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, Vista and Windows 7 or later.

10) If a patron's device does not connect to LDSAccess, then it is suggested that they need to contact their technical support for a possible upgrade and/or setup
