Technology Manager (https://tm.lds.org) will be down for system maintenance from 08:00 on October 18, 2016 until 23:30 on October 19, 2016 (USA MT). Users will not be able to access Technology Manager during that time, so please plan accordingly. This is in preparation for a Technology Manager upgrade that adds the ability to manage satellite receivers as well as network firewalls

Are you in a position to tell us what the changes will allow us to do?

The TM upgrade allows both network firewall and satellite receiver management. For satellites an STS/FM can activate/deactivate/reassign/decommission receivers and change channel/language. Firewall management features are the same, but the new TM will include some user interface enhancements and a few new features.

This is a reminder about Technology Manager (https://tm.lds.org) system maintenance taking place October 18 and 19 (see notice above). Users will not be able to access Technology Manager during this time. Existing building networks will not be affected by the maintenance; only the Technology Manager tool will be inaccessible during this time. Also FMs should not try activating firewalls on these days. When the maintenance is complete technical specialists and Facilities Managers will be able to manage both network firewalls and satellite receivers using Technology Manager.

I assume this management is via the received satellite signal and not via the Ethernet network connection on the back of the receiver (which may or may not be connected)?
