Reassigning a firewall to a different building

If a meetinghouse firewall is moved to a different property, the firewall must be reassigned to the new building using Technology Manager. Failure to do so results in mismatch in the TM database (with the firewall being associated with a wrong property). The Global Service Center can easily reassign a firewall to a different property; they just need some basic information (see the MHTech article copied below).
=====
Moving a Meetinghouse Internet Firewall to a New Building Location
Meetinghouse Internet is created by installing and activating a network router (“firewall”). When a firewall is activated, the firewall serial number is associated with the meetinghouse property number in the Technology Manager tool (https://tm.lds.org).

If a meetinghouse firewall is moved to a different property, the firewall must be reassigned to the new property number. The Facilities Manager or Stake Technology Specialist should contact the Global Service Center and ask them to reassign the firewall to the new building location. The following information will be needed:
  • • Requestor’s LDS Account ID,
    • Firewall serial number, and
    • New unit name, unit number or property number (the property where the firewall will be moved to).

Once this is done the firewall serial number will be associated with the correct property in Technology Manager.
