hi guys, I'm new as IT in my stake, but I have serious problems related to transmission of webcasts because always have lot of users connected to network when I have to make the broadcasts, there is some way to use a QoS to prioritize traffic of video, or better than I can prioritize traffic from my laptop, best regards.

Davi, you bring up a good point. However, QOS will help, but there is a better way. It sounds like you are the stake technology specialist. If that is the cast then you are in luck. If you got to http://tm.lds.org and log in with your LDS account, you should be able to see all your routers and wireless access points in the stake. I hope that you are using the 881W and the 1041n.

In there you select the serial number of the firewall you want to control. It will bring up information about that router. in there you will see a tab called access points and under there you will be able to deactive the wireless access point. Just click on disable access points and that will throw everyone off the wireless/network at the church.

I do this every time that I do a webcasting because of the bandwidth that the users takes. I also use PVC instead of the webcasting as I found that PVC is more reliable than the webcasting software.

I hope this helps.
Terry

Perhaps your firewall needs to be upgraded.

Interesting. Because the attach picture is what i have. I'm wondering if you have JAVA enabled because I believe that the buttons are JAVA enabled since MLS is written in JAVA.

Thanks

I just try another browser to check about the java, but I believe the problem is related to lack of updating the router, I will check with staff the possibility of update.
thanks for all

What model router do you have? It will show on the first page.

OK, so you don't need a hardware upgrade, but perhaps a software upgrade.

How big is your DHCP pool? If it's not at least 900, then you're running the old software.

But before upgrading, I'd suggest reading Upgrading an Existing Meetinghouse Firewall.

The reason you are not seeing the option to disable the wifi is because your CDOL role is not set to the Technology Specialist role. You need to contact your stake clerk and get your role/calling set correctly.

The official calling is called: Stake Assistant Clerk - Technology Specialist

After this has been taken care of and the changes synchronized, you should see the buttons.
