In the past, a bishop has been able to request a replacement copy, but only by explaining how the previous copy got destroyed, i.e., fell into a mud puddle, burned in a fire, disappeared in a tornado. If it was not collected from the previous person in the calling, the answer will be to go get it from him. It it was merely lost or misplaced, the answer will be to find it.

Without an outstanding verbal loss report, your stake president is the best bet for getting another copy. He will have to answer the same questions, but they will be kinder to him. [grin]

Just got off the phone with DC the procedure is.

Stake President needs to send letter on his letter head requesting replacement. Letter needs to include Unit name needing replacement, unit number, who replacement is for, and reason for replacement.

I recieved this from the LDS online store regarding the matter. (In case it is helpful)
Handbook one cannot be ordered online, the Stake President has to send an e-mail to GSCDistribution@ldschurch.org, with their name and unit number. The e-mail should include the unit number that needs the book, the position the book will be given to, and the reason the book is being ordered.
Each unit should only have the following total amount of copies:
• Stake or District Presidency – 3 copies
• Stake or District Clerk – 1 file copy
• Bishopric – 3 copies
• Branch President – 1 copy
• Ward or Branch Clerk – 1 file copy
• Requests beyond the listed number of copies will not be fulfilled.

Thank you!

I think it is a bit funny they are so restrictive. I can see it on line as can my counselors. Someone with patience could just reprint their own.

As can your Ward Clerk, Assistant Ward Clerk, and Exec Sec.
