temple recommend books

Postby stott-p40 » Sun Oct 24, 2010 6:36 am

1. Has anyone else had trouble getting on to the online catalog site? They changed their site a few weeks ago and since then I have not been able to use the ward's old user name (the unit number) and our old ward specific password. Does the bishop have to give them a call to activate us on the new site or can a ward clerk do it?
2. Unfortunately, our bishop has been out of town this last week for business. The second counselor called me and said we are out of temple recommends and we have a stake day in the temple coming up. Is it possible to borrow another ward's temple recommend book or are they completely ward specific due to the serial numbers on them?
3. Any good solution to this problem? Today is Sunday and the stake day in the temple is next Friday and the bishop will be gone Monday through Wednesday.

The old unit logins are going (gone) away. You need to use your LDS Account. If your calling is properly recorded in MLS (and CDOL), then you should be able to navigate to where you can order things for the unit.
Have you searched the Wiki?
Try using a Google search by adding "site:tech.lds.org/wiki" to the search criteria.

This is a wonderful teaching opportunity. No temple recommends will expire between now and the end of the month, so you are only dealing with members who already have expired recommends and have not gotten around to renewing them.

While it is not recommended, and recommends are ward specific, the stake still will be able to activate a recommend issued on another ward's form.

Of course, the bishop is authorizing his counselors to do these temple recommend renewal interviews. And the stake presidency is also available this week on short notice. [grin]

As I said, a wonderful teaching opportunity. But I do hope everyone who needs and desires a recommend is able to obtain one in time.
