You said that CDOL may have been updated. I apologize if I am taking those words too literally, but did someone check to verify that CDOL was actually updated with the new address?

If something went wrong in the process of the bishop editing his CDOL information, and thus CDOL was not really updated, then there would be no updated data to propagate to other systems.

I actually don't know that empirically, because of course my calling does not give me access to CDOL. I only know that the bishop told me he had succeeded in updating CDOL through the online interface.

Is it possible to update CDOL online? I have not been able to see how that is done on any of the pages. I guess the bishops could call and update his information. We usually make the changes on the stake copy of the bishop's information sheet, have the stake president sign the change and then send it in.

Is there another way to update CDOL?

Yes, I believe anyone who can login to CDOL can change his own information. When you have clicked on your name link so that you are looking at your own record (your calling will be near the top at the left, followed by your name in a larger font), there will be an Edit Assignment link just above your name.

If you click on Edit Assignment, you will be able to update your own personal information. Once you save that, the words "Unpublished Changes" will appear under your status (probably "Active") in the upper right corner of the page. Clearly, that indicates that some sort of approval process has to take place before the update actually takes effect.

One last footnote to this saga: It appears that the address propagation finally registered in other systems without intercession by the stake clerk. It just took a very long time. The bishop is now receiving shipments at his new address.
