Clerk permissions

#1

Post by mitchcurtis@dawcg.com »

We would like to provide the facilities scheduler access to the stake calendar where they can make the necessary changes reflecting times where the stake building is booked. The MLS and LDS Tools shows that in order to have access to these changes you have to be a Stake Clerk/Secretary to gain these permissions. Giving this member Clerk/Secretary permissions provides them access to other areas which are confidential and not necessary. Please provide feedback.

Neither MLS nor LDS Tools allows anyone to make changes to the calendar, so I can't understand why you made this claim -- they don't show anything like that.

Permissions to edit a stake calendar can be granted to any member of the stake by name (or by stake calling). Only a stake administrator can grant those permissions, but once the person has editor permission for a calendar, they can make any changes to the calendar.

You're certainly right that you should not be assigning people callings they don't have, just so they can edit a calendar; fortunately it is not necessary in this case, and would always be a bad idea anyway.
