Sending Messages to Ward

As the clerk I am able to send messages to the ward using leader and clerk resources->applications->send a message. Can other leaders in the ward do the same? I assume that if they have the leader and clerk resources they would, however, I have explained this to my HP Group leader and the Bishop and they look at me like I'm crazy... Thanks

Under the LCR, there's a menu to show the access table - what features are available to what callings. I'm sure the bishop could do it, I'm not so sure about the HP Group leader.

It can be done from the Directory - I do it all the time as HPGL. Go to the Directory, on the left side, select "Ward Organizations," on the filter column select "High Priests"

Just below the High Priests title to the right, there is a link to "Email all High Priests"

When you click on that link, a window opens with all the High Priest e-mail addresses that you can copy and paste into your E-mail program of choice.

Only for those whose privacy is set to "sake".

Thanks all.

Actually, that is my second problem. Our stake PR representative has tried to send our ward emails using the directory and for some reason it doesn't work with our ward as it does with all the other wards in the stake. Is there something I can do to remedy this?

This is sounding very 'icky' to me and a reason I would turn my privacy settings on. The issue is that people don't TRUST that if they send stuff to leadership that it will eventually get to the lowly member of the church. This is very often the case, so they try and bypass any leadership level communications and send it directly.

A stake and ward should have a plan for communication - Typically, by role, clerks and exec sec's are/should be 'trusted' members to send these communications. This will guarantee that leadership has 'signed off' on the communication and that as a 'lowly member' I have trust that the message has been 'vetted'

In my stake we consolidated all communication into a weekly message sent out - everyone got very used to the idea that this was the message - there were exceptions, but they were typically only SP level. - Wards were free to communicate how they want.

How is it different? Keep in mind that when you send via the directory, it's using YOUR email service. The directory is just providing a list of emails to use. Perhaps her email system isn't up to the task.

But the problem of privacy settings and not everyone getting the message is the same for all wards. Perhaps your ward just has more members who are concerned about privacy.
