MLS screens

#1

Post by busman »

Is there anywhere I can access sample screens for MLS, both finance and membership? I need to train new clerks and it would be helpful to be able to either project them or print them in handouts.

See MLS test data on the LDSTech Wiki.

The problem, of course, is the Finance for the test unit is pre-CUBS and is likely useless for creating finance screens.

I think you're going to have to screen-shot live data and then edit it to remove sensitive information.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

It's true that the financial test data precedes the CUBS transition. But that certainly doesn't make it useless -- it just means that the categories will not match those in a real unit. But just about every screen is still realistic, except for that one aspect.

The one screen that is so different that it is probably useless would be the Budget Report.

Could the MLS test be updated to post-CUBS so it will be more useful in training? Clerks are often confused when the test screen doesn't match their live screen (except, of course, for the data).

I doubt it. There was a time a few years ago that the MLS test data was almost removed from the program, but some of us protested so strongly that it was retained. But we also asked for it to be updated (I've asked for that multiple times), but it hasn't happened. Development resources are being placed primarily on Leader and Clerk Resources, with only essential updates made to MLS, so I would be shocked if development resources of any kind were put on the MLS test data at this point.
