Is there a way to assign an Elder with a High Priest in a companionship for home teaching. Thank you.

Yes. The companionship has to be assigned to a specific quorum/group, which then has responsibility for reporting, but just like you can assign a Priest to be a companion to a High Priest, you can also assign an Elder to be a companion of a High Priest.
