My father is a patriarch in our stake since 2008. He's instructed to send the blessings by two years (i believe you understand it). If he desires, he can mantain a copy of your blessings for security (the blessings can not be received in Church Archives). But, a day, when he go out these calling, these copies must be destroyed (or sent to Church Archives if aren't sent before).

Patriarchal Blessing duplication unavailable for a period of time

This is good information to know concerning this topic.
I found it on the site of Patriarchal Blessing Requests.
Please be aware that the Church History Library will be moving to a new building in 2009. To prepare for the move and to ensure that we have completed the requests in our queue, we will stop accepting duplication requests for patriarchal blessings on 27 February 2009. We will begin accepting requests again on 22 June 2009. We apologize for the inconvenience. We look forward to serving you in the future.

In my opinion, this information needs to be displayed somewhere very prominent, more-so than just this forum thread. Perhaps the content at the link above could be updated with this information.

bartonsc, are you a Church employee that could get pass this update along to the right people and get it updated somewhere prominently on LDS.org? Or at least have the article you linked to updated?

The linked article already has the information -- that's where the quote was taken from. So it is already on lds.org, in the only place (that I know of) where people are told how to get the copies. I'm not sure it needs to be much more prominent than that, since it is a service that is relatively rarely used.

You can request a copy of your patriarchal blessing online at lds.org. On the Tools menu, there is a link to "Patriarchal Blessing" where you can fill out a form and request that a copy be mailed to you. Or a direct link is here.

If for some reason the online form doesn't meet your needs, you can see alternate ways to obtain it here.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.
