Sep 12 letter for new AP/YW and Youth Sunday School Curriculum

I was just on the letters portal, and saw the letter
dated Sep 12th saying that there will be new Curriculum
for the Aaronic Priesthood, Young Women, and Youth
Sunday School in 2013.

Can someone "in the know" tell me if these new materials
are supposed to replace AP 2, and YW 2, or merely
supplement them ?

If they new ones are replacing them, I want to make sure the
other clerks in my Stake do not place orders for
obsolete manuals as part of their Annual Order(s).

Per the letter, do not place orders for AP Manual 2 and YW Manual 2 for use in your ward for 2013 if your unit language is one of the languages which will be using the new Youth Curriculum Materials.

lds.org now contains the new curriculum. It contains various resources, including the First Presidency letter we haven't all been able to see. Here's the link to the English announcement.

I'm a recently called bishop in Salt Lake and my YW president mentioned the new curriculum to me in PEC meeting. She was quoting the letter she had seen online that was sent to church leaders. I received my letter in the mail yesterday.

Just saw the new curriculum, also. It's beautiful! Seems to be a good fusion of tailor-able lesson material for the advisors, Duty to God focus areas, youth participating in the teaching/learing experience, and mission preparation. The roll-out is cleverly synchronized with deployment of the new age limitations with for our LDS missionaries, as it gives a clear mission-preparation curriculum.

I noticed that http://www.lds.org/youth/learn auto-synched to October when I went there. I thought that was a very clever implementation when visiting the youth curriculum pages.

The new 2013 Youth Curriculum will replace the Young Women, Aaronic Priesthood and the youth Sunday School manuals. If your unit has already placed your annual curriculum order, you can contact Customer Support (GSC) at help@store.lds.org to receive a credit for these manuals. Please include your unit number and annual curriculum order number to receive proper credit back to your units’ account. Please do not return the manuals back to the Distribution Center.

Our stake has been one of the pilot stakes for the new curriculum starting earlier this year. It's fantastic! It will take a bit of adjustment from what the instructors are accustomed to doing, but once they get it implemented, it's a great way to teach the gospel.

The old manuals are history. Everything you need will be online.

We have not yet received any area training, but have an administrative question. For Sunday School, will this also apply to the Teachings of Presidents of the Church, and the Principles of Exaltation courses that the 12- and 13-year-olds start out with?

Are these two courses going away, as well, or will they continue?

I found my answer. They go away. The new curriculum starts in all three organizations at age 12.

A new question. Is the training you received online, or was there more than what is available there? In other words, do the Youth Instruction Guidebook and the Youth Curriculum Introduction provide the basis of the training you received as you implemented this program?

We understand that we should receive instruction from our area leaders, but it is time to schedule and prepare for some stake and ward training sessions if we are to be ready by January.

This past week our stake president received some detailed instruction at a coordinating council meeting led by our area authority. I haven't yet heard the details of what he was taught, but he reported that Church HQ had a prescribed 60 minute training agenda for stakes to train bishoprics on this topic. We happen to already have a bishopric training meeting scheduled for three weeks from now, so we'll figure out how to squeeze that into the agenda for that meeting.
