Can I get a few of you to comment on the success/failures, pros/cons of a Patriarch using Dragon?
Thanks

Re: Dragon Naturally Speaking - Patriarch
well, this post has gone unanswered for over a year, so i'll just share that i've been using dragon professional 15 this year to transcribe the digital voice file from a philips dpm8100 recorder.
it works well with essentially no training to create a text file (with basic punctuation) of the blessing that we use as a beginning rough draft.
i do not use dragon to try to make corrections in the document, using a keyboard is more practical and efficient for editing.

Re: Dragon Naturally Speaking - Patriarch
Is there an official church solution for Stake Patriarchs to transcribe blessings? My stake president asked me to research this as he considers calling a new scribe. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or insight!

Not an answer -- but wouldn't it be wonderful if each patriarch could transmit an audio recording of each blessing to the church? Then you could login and actually listen to your patriarchal blessing, in addition to reading the text.

I think there's some room for editing the final text before sending - something that's a bit harder to do with audio. I distinctly remember a phrase my patriarch used for my blessing that wasn't in the text. It's not an issue for me. I assume the edit was clarification of the initial revelation and not an omission.drepouille wrote:Not an answer -- but wouldn't it be wonderful if each patriarch could transmit an audio recording of each blessing to the church?
