MLS 3.3 and All Users
Do we have a new process for the move/transfer of MLS 3.3, because we now have a "LDS Church" folder with a sub folder "MLS" in "All Users" ?kh_design wrote:To Move/Transfer MLS and data from your old computer to your new computer.

MLS 3.3 and All Users
Just talked with headquarters and they said that with MLS 3.3
If you do the old move process and also copied the LDS Church folder in All Users that you will still have to contact headquarters to get the security certificate reset
Therefore it appears that the best practice is to copy a MLS backup from the old MLS desktop to a USB drive, then do a MLS restore on the new MLS desktop and then call to get the security certificate reset

In the past, the main reason to copying over the folders as opposed to just using a back-up was to preserve financial statements and confidential forms that were not included in the backup file. I assume 3.3 has not added these to the backup either. You can re-request the statements and recreate the forms, so using a back-up might be the simplest approach.pete.arnett wrote:If you do the old move process and also copied the LDS Church folder in All Users that you will still have to contact headquarters to get the security certificate reset

That may appear to be the best practice when practicable. But doing the work on Saturday you will not be able to get a security reset until Monday. Therefore if work is to be done on the weekend then requesting a security reset on Friday or during the week would be the best practice. Just be aware that the next computer to do a send receive for the unit, whether it be the old computer or the new computer, will be the one set for security purposes to be the only computer authorized to send or receive data from CHQ.pete.arnett wrote:Therefore it appears that the best practice is to copy a MLS backup from the old MLS desktop to a USB drive, then do a MLS restore on the new MLS desktop and then call to get the security certificate reset
