Hello, i'm the STS of the Belgium Brussels stake...I need information (or formation:)).
We have received 3 new computers for a Young Adult Center (optiplex 780 small form factor...without wireless PCI card). Il will buy Wifi usb keys. I need to connect them on the wireless network. All the FHC here are connected with Odissey Client.
I don't know wich Os is installed, I don't know how to find the odissey client, i don't know how to find the moroni (???) script....
Could you help me for the steps to follow ???
(Sorry for my bad English).

Young Single Adult center? Is that anything like a Young Single Adult ward?

Odyssey is an old program that doesn't support some cards. Normally I'd suggest you call the Global Service Desk, but I don't know the number for your area. I'd would suggest you call your Area Office and ask for the contact information.

You may want to replace the current Wireless profile with a more modern one that just uses plain old WPA. However, you'll have to reconfigure every computer that currently uses the wireless access point.

Also, I'd suggest finding a PCI card. I'd be afraid the USB device would get lost or broken.

Thank you for the answer...
In fact, because the computer is a small form factor, there is no place for pci extension...so USB keys are essentials.
How can i replace odissey by a classical wpa key ??? I have to call the area office ???

It's actually the Global Service Center that you need to call. But since you are located in Europe, we don't know what phone number to give you for the GSC; that's why RussellHltn suggested that you ask your area office how to contact the GSC.

The reason you have to work with the GSC is that the Wireless Access Points actually have to be rescripted so that they can be accessed with a standard WPA connection. The technicians in the GSC have the access and expertise to reprogram the WAPs so that they will no longer require the Odyssey client.

Is this a Small Form Factor or a Ultra Small Form Factor? The specs for the SFF show a low-profile PCI and low-profile PCIe.

The USSF doesn't have any.

Internal WLAN cards for either form factor are available, but you would certainly want to check with your GSC first before ordering (as was mentioned).

Here's an idea of what they look like and the approx price in USD...

Wireless PCIe 1505 card for the Dell Optiplex 780 Small Form Factor.

Wireless PCIe 1510 card for the Dell Optiplex 780 Ultra Small Form Factor.

Of course, less expensive USB-type WLAN "sticks" are certainly available as well. The above examples are only if you desire an internal solution.

It's a great joy for me to read your answers...thank you for the time you take for me...(and sorry for my poor English :) ).
The area ''manager'' said me that they will install ''lds access'' to simplify the procedure. It seem that with lds access, it just require a WPA key. Lds access is a software ??? Or just a SSID for connecting any computers on the building with a classic wpa identification ?
Sorry for all that questions....It seems that in USA you are 3 year in advance on us in europe.;)

I don't know all the details, but I think that's close enough.

LDSAccess is actually both software and the SSID. It is software that the Global Service Center installs on the wireless access point by applying a script. That script configures the WAP to use WPA security, and also sets the WAP's SSID to be "LDSAccess".

Young Adult Centers are "institute like" buildings that merge S&I, Welfare, Missionary and other department services to help strong Young Adults in an LDS environment, since this young adults are or not Church members. It's available only in Europe by now.

I know that this isn't the best place to that but since USA and Canada has Institute buildings, Europe has Young Adult centers, I believe is now the time to create a facility for us in other world areas. As a YSA, I believe it can be some wonderfull. But it's only an outflow and we can return to the subject now...
